Congratulations to Joel Herning who was named the
2013 Natural Areas Volunteer of the Year at the annual volunteer recognition
event on April 10th. Joel has dedicated more than 100 hours of
service at Lyman Woods and Belmont Prairie this year. Most notably, he spearheaded
restoration efforts and invasive shrub and tree removals at Belmont Prairie this past
fall and winter. Joel inspired many other volunteers to get involved at Belmont
Prairie, including his son Jeff.
Thank you, Joel, for all of your hard work and dedication to restoring our beautiful natural areas!
