This discovery-based
program for children ages 4-6 sets the stage for meaningful learning
experiences. Lyman Woods provides the perfect outdoor setting where children
can engage in nature play…not just playing in nature, but playing with nature – catching bugs, splashing
in ponds, building with logs, and digging in dirt. These child-initiated
activities are what make real learning take place. Children take ownership of their
experiences, which in turn become more meaningful.
What better classroom than
the outdoors?! So many things to count, add, subtract, name, spell, draw, and
perform experiments with! Though nature play will be child-centered, our
instructors are always aware of those teachable moments. Woven into this
experience will be a curriculum to keep learning on task and to challenge your
child daily on their road of discovery.
Ideally, being outdoors as
much as possible is our goal, but if the elements warrant four walls, we can
retreat to our indoor classroom space with plenty of nature to experience and
experiment with.
Consider enrolling your
child(ren) in our new NaturePlay School this fall. Be one of the first to take
part in this exciting new program!
